The objective was to identify a feasible project design and develop a contract for pilot operation under cooperation between CEZ (the provider) and CEPS (the Czech TSO). The assignment followed on from the “Overview of technologies and applications of electricity storage, indication of the feasibility of selected applications in the Czech Republic” project that LEEF compiled for the investor between 2010 and 2012. The investor decided to go ahead with implementation based on the documentation prepared. The project is now under pilot operation. The outcomes will help ČEPS to define the conditions for operating battery systems for ancillary services in the Czech Republic.
