The aim of the project was to prepare quantitative outcomes and a broader collection of information from which a systematic approach to the development of battery storage in the power network can be drawn by the Czech transmission system operator. The contents in brief:

Description of global trends and considerations on the potential development of battery storage in the Czech Republic

Definition of the development scenarios for large and small battery storage in the Czech Republic until 2030

Analysis of the conditions for connecting battery systems and the provision of ancillary services

Considerations on the permissible levels of battery capacity/power penetration in the Czech power system

Assessment of the possibility of inertia compensation with battery installations

We believe that the outcomes, the battery installation forecast or the considerations on the technical aspects of the increased penetration of batteries, will contribute to defining the appropriate conditions for the non-discriminatory development of new battery energy storage projects.
